Josh’s Roofing and Construction on the job

FAIRMONT — Josh Owens grew up helping his dad in the construction industry. But now, he has an enterprise of his own — Josh’s Roofing and Construction.

Josh, 22, started his business at the beginning of February. He recently obtained his business license, which allows him to perform many contracting services for customers.

“We just do anything, a little bit of everything,” the Shinnston native said. “We just do it all.”

Josh’s Roofing and Construction offers a variety of home improvement and remodeling services, such as roofing, dry wall, siding, additions and more.

Josh graduated from Fairmont State University in December with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology.

He gained experience in the trade of construction by working for his father. William Owens, known as Buck, has been in the industry for many years and is the owner of Owens Roofing and Construction. Josh said he has worked with his dad since he was young and as far back as he can remember.

Josh, now a business owner himself, and his father Buck assist each other in their respective businesses and work together on projects.

Since starting his business, Josh has already had clients in Barrackville, Clarksburg and other areas. He said he’s pretty much willing to travel where the work takes him.

As a business owner in roofing and construction, Josh likes being able to work outside and be his own boss. He also enjoys meeting new people.
