WHITE HALL —
Shoe Show in White Hall promises to save customers money on each pair of shoes they buy.
The store is located in the newly constructed Tygart Commons shopping plaza between Walmart and Tygart Valley Cinemas. Shoe Show joins several other businesses — including Game Exchange, rue21, G&S Wireless and Sally Beauty Supply — that have moved into the complex since January. Other shops, like TanFastics and Donut Connection, are expected to open in the plaza soon.
Vicki Ayers, spokesperson for Shoe Show, said the developer worked on the different shops in phases over six months, and the construction of Shoe Show’s 4,067-square-foot space started on June 4. The work only took a few weeks to complete, and the business officially opened June 29.
At Shoe Show, customers can find a variety of shoes, handbags and accessories, she said. They can browse the selection of products for men, women and kids, including popular-price brands.
Brands like Eastland, Timberland, Tommy Hilfiger, Hush Puppies, Life Stride, Rocky Boots, K Swiss, Reebok, Nike, Keds, New Balance, Hi-Tec and adidas are also available, Ayers said.
“Shoe Show stays focused on the simple formula of providing quality products, service and value,” she said. “We’re going to have the latest styles at great prices because when you shop at Shoe Show, you don’t have to buy two pairs of shoes to save money.”
In 1960, Robert Tucker founded Shoe Show. His philosophy, “give the customer a good value every single time ... one pair at a time,” has kept the business thriving for 52 years.
There are currently 443 Shoe Show locations across 21 states, including 16 stores in West Virginia.
The total company, Shoe Show Inc., includes the Show Show, Shoe Dept., Burlington Shoes/Shoe Dept., and Shoe Dept. Encore divisions and has 1,127 stores in 37 states, Ayers said. Concord, N.C., is the site of the company’s corporate headquarters and distribution center.
She said the Show Show store in White Hall is operated by a team of eight employees.
“Shoe Show is a price-conscious retailer and we want our value prices to be passed on to the local consumer,” Ayers said.
Shoe Show is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 304-363-9864.
