FAIRMONT — Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac’s recent remodeling project is pleasing customers as well as employees.

The dealership, located at 1229 Country Club Rd. in Fairmont, has gone through a major renovation involving improvements to both the exterior and interior, said Jo Marie Pitrolo, dealer of Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac.

Outside, people can notice the new facade, signage and lighting, and the inside of the building is now equipped with a new customer lounge, showrooms, and business and sales offices, she said. The interior features revamped flooring, ceilings, lighting and furnishings, and the facility has Wi-Fi.

Pitrolo said the design has changed the way people move around the building and provides easier customer access. Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac did the makeover as part of General Motors’ national project to remodel dealerships and make them look uniform.

“It’s voluntary, but we wanted to do it to please our customers and to be more appealing,” she said.

The actual construction at the Fairmont dealership was done in different stages and took about nine months. Last month, GM approved the renovation, which had to meet its specifications, Pitrolo said.

The facility’s last renovation was in the early ’90s. The project was mostly an outside facelift, including changes to the facade and the signage, she said.

Pitrolo said the dealership has been getting a great response and a lot of nice compliments from customers on the newest remodeling effort. Not only are the customers enjoying the improvements, but the employees are also feeling good about being in a nice, new place.

Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac has a staff of about 33 people, and several have been working there for more than 25 years, she said.

The dealership offers new vehicle sales of Chevrolet and Cadillac, used vehicle sales of all makes, and auto leasing. It has certified GM technicians on staff and features a service department with 16 bays, a body shop with six bays, and a parts department, Pitrolo said.

Her dad, Anthony Pitrolo, and his family started Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac in 1955 on Fairmont Avenue where Gwynn Tire is now located. In 1969, the dealership moved to its current home, which was a brand new building at the time.

Jo Marie Pitrolo started helping at the dealership when she was in grade school and always knew that she wanted to go into the family business. Her grandfather and uncles were also car dealers.

She joined Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac in 1985, and took over the business after her father passed away in 1998.

Pitrolo said the dealership has known its customers for a long time and gets repeat business from them and their families and neighbors. The business’ longevity as well as the way it treats its clients with mutual respect is what keeps people coming back.

Anthony Chevrolet Cadillac is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for sales and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for service, and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for sales. For more information, call 866-704-8077.
