At Your Service Catering eager to fulfill wishes

FAIRMONT — At Your Service Catering is giving customers a great time and great food at a fair price.

Rob and Janet Izydore opened this catering business in the Fairmont area in March. The company’s office is located at 273 Kimberly Circle at Deerfield Estates.

Janet, originally from Charlotte, N.C., is the president and the sole employee of At Your Service Catering, and Rob, a native of Duquesne, Pa., is using his 30 years of restaurant experience to support her.

The couple met in the restaurant industry, and Janet worked for Rob for years before they got married. Their work took them across the East Coast, and they ended up in West Virginia about 15 years ago.

They both really enjoy cooking, Rob said.

“We always loved the food part of the industry,” he said.

During the last 15 years of his career, Rob did a lot of catering for tailgates, Christmas parties, birthday festivities and anniversary celebrations. He said he built up a good rapport with customers during that time.

He moved on to other endeavors and was out of the business for about four years. But a call from an old client, who wanted to use his catering services, rekindled that interest.

In catering, the staff has a very short time frame to make everything happen, Rob said.

“We always called it organized chaos,” he said. “We like that rush of it.”

Rob and Janet brainstormed and felt that they could make a catering business work with the help of their backgrounds in restaurants. They also thought the area needed more catering options.

The husband and wife team named their business At Your Service Catering because they don’t have a set menu and are very capable of meeting the wishes of their clients. The company is proud to be able to provide any food themes, including cajun, seafood, Italian, Chinese and everything in between.

Some of the business’ most popular entrées are barbecue chicken, pulled pork, and a choice of ribeye, sirloin or New York strip steak. The side items are whatever clients desire, such as macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, pork and beans, pasta salad and house salad. Southwest potatoes is one of the business’ specialties.

“We try to reach out to what our clients needs are and their budget and find out what we can do to accommodate what their desire or goal is,” Rob said.

Because Rob and Janet do all the work themselves and don’t have any employees, they are able to keep the prices affordable. They’re trying to provide budget catering.

“If you want a great meal for a fair price, that’s our business model,” Rob said.

The company can help with any occasion where food needs to be delivered. It can serve as few as 10 people, but also has the capability of serving big crowds.

“We’ll travel anywhere,” Rob said. “We have no limitations.”

At Your Service Catering has been staying busy with graduation parties, family reunions, fundraisers, and tailgates for Fairmont State University and West Virginia University football games.

“So far, we’ve achieved our expectations,” Rob said. “Everything has been positive. The quality of the food at the price points that we set are fantastic. We will work with anybody on any issue at any time.”
