Fairmont State University’s annual volleyball camp is en route to another successful year.
On tap for the first day of the four-day affair were 44 youngsters that ranged from fourth graders to seniors in high school.
The first session consisted of 19 fourth-through eighth-graders, and the second session held in the afternoon featured 25 high school players.
Here, the girls were given various workouts and training from both the Fighting Falcon squad and head coach Larry Hill.
“It’s just like a basic skills camp,” Hill said. “We take the girls through hitting, passing, receiving and serving. We get an opportunity to work on those, and then we incorporate team play at the end of the camp. Not only are they getting individual stuff, but we are also doing a lot of team stuff with them.”
