FSU picked to finish seventh in Mountain East Conference

BRIDGEPORT — Fairmont State University’s football team is doing something the school has never done — hire a new football coach while switching conferences.

Now that the Falcons are in the Mountain East Conference (MEC), newly hired head football coach Jason Woodman is set to put the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) in the past.

Last year, the Falcons faced a constant struggle. From their 4-6 record of a year ago to playing just 10 games (opposed to the league average of 11 games), the Falcons were diminishing.

But that ends now.

On Monday, Woodman and the rest of the Falcons football squad will begin their quest to make a move to win in the new conference.
