FSU offering $1 tickets for Saturday’s games

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont State athletic department will be offering a $1 general admission ticket to any fan that donates a non-perishable food or personal care item at Saturday’s basketball doubleheader against Shepherd.

The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. with the women’s game and will be followed by the men’s contest at approximately 4 p.m. Stations will be set up at both gates on Saturday to collect items as fans enter the arena.

All collected items will be donated to “The Nest.” The Nest is a campus food bank that assists students that need extra help with food supplies. If fans are unable to make it to the game on Saturday and would still like to donate, they can drop items off at the Fairmont State Library circulation desk during normal library hours.

The Fairmont State basketball teams will also honor four seniors who will be playing their final regular season game at Joe Retton Arena on Saturday. In addition, both teams can still earn a first-round bye in next week’s MEC Basketball Tournament. Therefore, the athletic department encourages fans to take advantage of this promotion and create an outstanding game-day atmosphere to end the 2014 regular season.
