Lady Falcons reach championship game

CHARLESTON — No. 3-seed Fairmont State University’s women’s basketball team defeated No. 2-seed West Liberty 71-63 in a West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinal game Friday afternoon at the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum.

Senior Kaitlin Snyder lead the Falcons with 20 points while sophomore Hailey Garrett notched a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Brianna Welch scored 13, Hallie Gunnoe added 11 and Tiffany Nicholson scored 10.

With the win over the Hilltoppers, the Falcons will take on the winner of No. 5-seed Seton Hill and No. 9-seed Charleston in the championship game at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
