Wheeling Jesuit swept Fairmont State to claim the inaugural Mountain East Conference Tournament on Saturday evening in Wheeling.
Wheeling Jesuit rolled in the first set to pick up a 25-14 victory and a 1-0 advantage in the set. FSU took an early lead in the second set but WJU rallied to take the 25-22 victory and wrapped up the league title with a 25-14 victory in the third set.
Bri Swann led the Falcons with 12 kills in the match. Amber Wilson chipped in nine kills for FSU. Tabbie Bias had a team-high 31 assists and Leslie Giordon and Tiff Smathers had 11 digs defensively.
Jen Pew had 15 kills and seven total blocks to lead Wheeling Jesuit. Andrew Thobe had 35 assists and Makenzie Ripley had 14 digs.
The Falcons will now wait until Monday evening to see if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
