FSU shuts down Concord in romp
There was a point late in Fairmont State's game with Concord University here Thursday night at the Carter Center when Falcon coach Jerrod Calhoun just shook his head and smiled.
The second-year FSU boss demands that his team attempts night in and night out to play staunch defense.
Lady Falcons return to form, roll past CU
Fairmont State’s Lady Falcons got back on track and got a little redemption in the process here Thursday evening at the Carter Center as they rolled to a 77-63 victory over Concord University.
FSU, which avenged an earlier 67-64 loss to the Mountain Lions in a game played in Logan back in January, improved to 14-8 overall and 12-7 in the Mountain East Conference.

Coming into Saturday’s contest with West Liberty, the Fairmont State men’s basketball team had played back-to-back one-possession contests against Glenville State and Wheeling Jesuit.
No doubt entertaining games for the fans. Not so much for the Falcons, who lost both.

Fairmont State’s Lady Falcons exited the halftime locker room Saturday afternoon looking like a team that didn’t want to play the final 20 minutes.
Sadly, that’s exactly how they performed for the most part in the second half and as a result second-place West Liberty broke a 47-47 tie with a 10-0 run midway through the final half and cruised to a 69-57 victory.
