This New Year’s Eve, don’t worry about getting childcare. Instead, throw a New Year’s party with kids for your friends and their families.
Here are some New Year’s party ideas:
• Punch that packs a punch
Make a large bowl of punch to be enjoyed by guests young and old.
Make it visually fun and extra tasty by floating fruit within. Make ice cubes out of juice, and serve a chilled bottle of champagne, Prosecco or sparkling wine on the side for adults to add to their glasses.
• Flavored popcorn bar
Set up a snack bar that guests can nibble from throughout the night.
Make a large batch of unbuttered popcorn and place in a large serving bowl with serving utensils. Individuals can portion out a serving into a bowl and add their favorite flavors.
Start with a touch of either melted butter or olive oil and add the dry spice or herb. Try options such as cinnamon and sugar, cumin, chopped rosemary or thyme, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic and onion salt, chocolate chips, caramel sauce and other favorites.
• New Year’s resolution game
Play a guessing game that’s fun for the whole family.
Pick famous characters and write names on small strips of paper; fold and place in a party hat. Have each person draw a slip of paper.
Next, each person takes a turn to write, perform or speak a resolution that corresponds. Others then guess what character the resolution matches.
