FSHS: Time flies by but ‘we still have much ahead of us’

Senior Franklin Wilson scored two of Fairmont Senior High School’s runs Friday morning during the Polar Bears’ Class AAA semifinal baseball game against Greenbrier East at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.

Then he drove more than two hours home to graduate from high school with the other 176 members of the Class of 2011 at Fairmont State University’s Feaster Center. Then he planned to return for today’s championship contest against Jefferson.

After this busy weekend, he will have his entire future in front of him, but he’s still figuring out whether he will play baseball at Fairmont State, West Virginia Tech or West Virginia Wesleyan.

Deirdre Tobin knows where she will be attending — Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., and what her major will be: math. After that, she is not sure.
