EFHS: Graduation ‘is a bittersweet experience for sure’

FAIRMONT — “Enjoy the moment, your accomplishments, your family and friends, because tomorrow begins a new chapter.” — Patricia Moran, East Fairmont High Senior Class President.

The “Bee Hive” lived up to its name as the center of activity Friday night when East Fairmont High held its annual graduation ceremony.

Family, friends and faculty packed the “Hive,” jumping to their feet to cheer and wave when the graduates entered the gymnasium.

Theresa Holyfield’s son, Michael Anthony, was one of those graduates.

“I’m glad it’s over; there’s been a lot of hard work but it all paid off,” she said. “He’s my first graduate so I’ll probably cry.”

While Holyfield was experiencing her child’s graduation for the first time, Cindy Provins was there to watch her youngest graduate, Brandon Provins.
