Melinda Jane Taylor, 69, of Mannington, died Saturday (April 27, 2013) at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont.
She was born June 6, 1943, at Mannington, a daughter of the late Howard F. and Lilly Myrtle Gill Taylor.
Melinda was an active member of Zion Assembly Church of God at Idamay and loved attending services and working church camp. She was very active in T.O.P.S. and enjoyed walking, sewing and embroidery. She also worked and helped at the Op Shop in Fairmont.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Crystal Taylor Jr. of Clarksburg, and Chuck and Betty Taylor, with whom she made her home; five nieces and nephews, Gary Lanham, Jeff Taylor, David Lanham, Dennis Taylor and Nora Taylor; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of the Genesis Pierpont Center “B” wing, especially Cheryl Simons and Sharon Senft, as well as the nurses at Fairmont General on 3B for their care and compassion during Melinda’s illness; and a special thanks to her nephew and his wife, Gary and Shawn Lanham, for their assistance and love.
Friends may call at Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington, from 3-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Viewpoint Cemetery at Rachel.
