Farmington man dies of injuries suffered in Route 250 accident

FAIRMONT — A 23-year-old Farmington man who was thrown from his pickup truck early Tuesday morning in an accident on U.S. Route 250 near Oakhurst has died, police said.

Michael A. Raddish died shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, a spokeswoman for the Marion Sheriff’s department said Wednesday.

Raddish was driving south toward Fairmont when his 1999 Ford Ranger pickup went off the right side of the road, Sheriff Junior Slaughter said. The accident happened around 6:30 a.m.

When the vehicle re-entered the road, it crossed the centerline and started to roll over, he said Tuesday.

It then struck a northbound vehicle before rolling over the guardrail and down an embankment into Buffalo Creek.

Rescue workers found Raddish in the creek, about 75 feet from his truck in the creek.

Sheilay Armentrout of Shinnston was the driver of the northbound vehicle. She too was flown by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Police did not have a condition report on her on Wednesday.
