PREVIEW — Bingo held to raise funds for Project J

RIVESVILLE — The Rivesville fire hall filled up Sunday afternoon with those looking for a little bit of fun and to help a non-profit organization raise funds.

Project J was started in honor of Jonathan Wilson, a young man who was killed last summer offering assistance to a stranded motorist along I-79 near the Goshen Road. Jonathan’s mother began the non-profit organization in order to continue her son’s random acts of kindness.

A Longaberger Basket bingo was held at the fire hall Sunday to raise funds to the organization. The proceeds from the bingo will be used to fill necessity bags with personal items. The bags will then be given to the families of critically ill children at the PIC unit at WVU hospitals. Money from the bingo will also be used to buy rocking chairs for the families at the hospital unit and to fund a scholarship for a student in need, said Debbie Wilson.
