MCACEC graduates urged to pursue future with passion

It was standing room only at the Marion County Adult and Community Education Center’s annual graduation ceremony Tuesday.
In previous years, the ceremony was held at the school during the day. This year, school administration moved the ceremony to the evening and changed the venue to the Turley Center ballroom on the main campus of Fairmont State University and Pierpont Community & Technical College.
That gamble paid off, as the room was filled with graduates and family members ready to wish them well. As people came in at the beginning of the ceremony, additional chairs had to be brought in for older people and those with small children.
The keynote speaker was Jim Skidmore, chancellor of the state’s community and technical college system.
