Municipal elections are held in county

Hundreds of citizens cast their ballots Tuesday in many of Marion County’s towns and cities.
The towns of Fairview, Farmington, Monongah, Rivesville, Worthington and White Hall held their municipal elections.
All returns are unofficial until each municipality’s canvassing board can officially certify the results.
In Fairview’s race for mayor, councilman Doug White garnered 83 votes to defeat perennial mayoral candidate Denny “Poppy” Copen, who received 39 votes. Mayor David Underwood decided not to seek re-election, but instead ran for council.
