PREVIEW — A life-saving discovery

By Mallory Panuska
Times West Virginian

FAIRMONT In the last few years, Deerfield resident Ken House has had more critical health problems than some people have in their whole lives.

In 2001, House suffered a heart attack and underwent triple bypass surgery. Then just two years later, House suffered a stroke. But had it not been for that unfortunate occurence, he never woud have discovered something that very well may have saved his life.

As it turned out, House had thyroid cancer. The disease was discovered by doctors when he was treated for his stroke, he had no symptoms and it was caught early. And today, after being treated for the disease, House is alive and well and it's all thanks to that fortunate discovery.
