UPDATE — Union says it’s offered health concessions to The Greenbrier

— A union representing about 1,100 employees at The Greenbrier has offered concessions on health care costs in contract negotiations with the four-star West Virginia resort.
Council of Labor Unions spokesman Harold Bock says a proposal offered Thursday would save The Greenbrier $12 million annually for five years. Some deductibles and co-payments would rise, but premium increases would be capped at 8 percent over five years.
The Greenbrier spokeswoman Lynn Swann says only that both sides exchanged proposals Thursday.
In February, The Greenbrier proposed increasing monthly insurance premiums for singles to $93 from $47 and for families to $398 from $95.
Employees have been working without a contract since March.
Jacksonville, Fla.-based CSX Corp. owns The Greenbrier.
