Fairmont Arbors opens doors after renovations

FAIRMONT — Without the more than 40 “thank you” signs that lined the walls of the bingo room at the Fairmont Arbors’ open house Thursday and other strategically placed signs, it would be hard to figure out what took place in the building last December.

On Dec. 29, a fire broke out in a fourth floor apartment, and though it remained contained to the one section, the life of one elderly resident who lived there was claimed.

The building has since been cleaned and refurbished to remove damage caused by fire, smoke and water to the establishment, one achieved through months of non-stop work.
