Police are searching for a man accused of committing an armed robbery at an East Fairmont bar.
According to a report from the Fairmont police, a light-skinned black man carrying a dark-colored semi-automatic handgun allegedly held up the High Life Lounge on East Park Avenue at around midnight Thursday.
At the time of the alleged incident, there were several patrons and one employee at the establishment. When the man entered, he ordered the patrons to lie face down on the floor and instructed the employee to gather money from the bar and give it to him, reports state. He then fled the business with the money. Shortly after, Fairmont police were called to the scene to investigate the situation but have not turned up a suspect yet.
The man has been described as average height and medium to muscular build. At the time of the incident, reports state he was wearing dark jeans, a white T-shirt and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, which appeared to display a West Virginia University Mountaineers logo. He also had dark-colored tennis shoes with white soles on his feet.
