Demus’ Market closing doors for final time today

After 55 years, Nick Demus is closing his doors on Friday.
Fifty-five years.
Nick was a young man of 27 when Demus’ Market first opened. It was a family business for years. But today, when it closes, only Nick and his sister Nellie will still be on the job.
Nick is now 82. His sister is 92.
“The people have been sad to hear that we are closing up,” Demus said. “We’re right here in the center of Worthington. I would guess that everybody in town has shopped here on occasion.”
He says his son Joe will continue to sell sausages from the building and take over the space from his store.
