Hundreds gathered at the 4T Arena Friday for opening night of the annual rodeo.
People from all over North Central West Virginia made the trip to spend time with family, listen to good country music, chow down on the food and watch the cowboys give it their best.
After entering the rodeo grounds and getting a ticket, folks walk through a midway of sorts, where all the vendors are set up to sell their wares. There’s lots for sale, from the iconic cowboy hat to some real cowboy boots and lariats. There’s some carnival games, complete with barkers encouraging folks to play because “there’s a prize every time.”
If you’re hungry, a host of organizations and businesses have set up booths to sell everything from funnel cake to barbeque. If you’re looking for traditional cowboy fare, there’s even stew and cobbler cooked over an open fire.
