Mannington man accused of bestiality is indicted

During second, last day of current session of county grand jury

FAIRMONT — A man accused of breaking into a Farmington home this summer and engaging in an act of bestiality with the resident’s dog was indicted by a Marion County Grand Jury Tuesday.

Mannington resident Christopher Adam Bagwell, 26, has been formally charged with nighttime burglary and cruelty to animals in the July 13 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, one of the homeowner’s relatives arrived at the Wiley Street house to drop something off and noticed the front door was open. Upon entering the residence, the relative witnessed Bagwell allegedly performing an act of bestiality with the dog, which was sitting on a chair with its back to Bagwell.

According to its owners, the dog, a male Australian shepherd/border collie mix, was subsequently treated for injuries stemming from the incident, but was otherwise all right.
