Mannington’s City Wide Yard Sale will feature treasures of all kinds.
This is about the seventh year Mannington Main Street has organized the event, which will take place Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Homes, businesses and groups throughout Mannington will participate in the yard sale.
Rana Taylor, program manager for Main Street, said the organization will provide maps ahead of time so shoppers can find the individual yard sales. Individuals who would like their properties posted on the map can sign up through April 29 by calling Main Street at 304-986-2037.
Shoppers can pick up the maps May 3, the Friday before the event, at T&L Hot Dogs, D&G Machine and Mountaineer Florist & Gifts in Mannington. Then the maps will be available at Citizen Square starting at 7 a.m. the day of the yard sale, Taylor said.
In addition, people can contact Main Street to reserve spots at Citizen Square and in downtown Mannington where they can sell their items, and that deadline is also April 29, she said. There is no cost to sign up for those spaces, but individuals must bring their own tables.
“Manny the Yard Sale Pig” will be hidden at one of the Mannington yard sales, and whoever finds him will win a gift certificate from a Main Street business.
Taylor said about 40 yard sales were held in Mannington during the event last spring, and people are already calling to sign up this year. Each year, residents as well as out-of-towners make plans for the City Wide Yard Sale, and it’s also a good opportunity for organizations to do fundraisers.
