What better way to celebrate West Virginia’s big birthday than learning more about her beginnings?
Dora Grubb, president of the Marion County Historical Society and Museum, is excited about a rare display that will be here until June 30.
Composed of historic documents, books, pamphlets and newspaper articles, it chronicles the Civil War and pre-West Virginia days of West Virginia.
The display is on loan from Stanley Louis Klos, former amateur Italian basketball player, businessman and historic preservationist. He was also a Republican nominee who challenged Robert C. Byrd in the U.S. Senate race in 1994.
