FAIRMONT — The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flash flood watch in Marion County this evening from 10 p.m. through Thursday afternoon.

The watch is also in effect in Marshall, Wetzel, Monongalia, Preston and Tucker counties in West Virginia, as well as parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Maryland.

The flood watch is in addition to a hazardous weather outlook issued yesterday by the NWS.

The NWS is predicting 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, with conditions that could lead to rapid water rises from streams and creeks into roadways and in urban areas. The agency will continue to monitor weather conditions and update recommendations as the situation develops.
