The Marion County Public Library is offering kids and adults a chance to know what it feels like to drill a hole in a coal bed by hand.
The library is hosting a traveling exhibit from Charleston called “Black Diamonds: A History of Southern West Virgina Coal” through Aug. 30.
Julie Mike, public relations manager, said the exhibit has been up since the end of July and creates a great interactive simulation for those who walk through it.
“It gives people a chance to be a coal miner around the turn of the century,” she said.
