Upon returning from executive session following Tuesday’s Fairmont City Council meeting, Mayor Ron Straight announced that council will hold a work session next week to discuss riverfront development at Palatine Park.
The work session has been scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in council chambers.
While in executive session, council discussed matters involving or affecting the purchase, sale, conveyance or lease of real property.
Charlie Reese, director of the Marion County Development Authority, was present at the meeting and told council that to date, the county’s budget for plans to develop the riverfront is approximately $750,000.
