The balloons really didn’t stand a chance.
U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., sat down at the concrete stand and steadily aimed his rifle at the trio attached to a target many yards off in the distance.
Then, with precision and skill, he picked off the red, white and blue balloons, one by one by one, in that order.
And with that, the newest public shooting range in the state was dedicated.
Located on the Dents Run Wildlife Management Area, the 67-acre range is now open from 9 a.m. to sunset every day of the year.
You don’t need a license, and you can use almost any kind of weapon. Automatics are not permitted.
