FAIRMONT — A group of Fairmont State University students traveled to Washington, D.C., on Saturday to participate in a 10-day seminar that focuses on the presidential inauguration.

“It really is a fabulous opportunity for our students to attend this seminar, meet with a number of high-powered officials in the government, politics and the news industry,” J. Robert Baker, director of the Honors Programs at FSU, said.

The 19 students will spend the days leading up to the inauguration, which is scheduled for next Monday, attending events, listening to speakers and visiting sites throughout the city. Baker said the students will visit the National Press Club, the Newseum and newsrooms of major media outlets.
