The Marion County Development Authority has a new board member.
Melissa Marko was appointed by the Marion County Commission at its weekly meeting Wednesday.
She joins a “cross-cut of the county” of individuals who strive to retain and maintain employment opportunities in the county.
“The board supplies and creates loans for persons going into business,” said commission president Randy Elliott. “It’s important to maintain and retain employment.
“The new members are serious,” he said. “This is an important role in deciding who gets loans in Marion County. We have about 18 active loans up to a $75,000 limit.”
