County budget receives conditional approval

Balance reached without tax increase

FAIRMONT — The Marion County Commission’s budget has received conditional approval from the state auditor.

According to administrator Kris Cinalli, the budget was submitted on Tuesday, March 26. Cinalli said at Wednesday’s county commission meeting that the general fund revenues and expenditures totaled $12,790,09 while the coal severance revenues and expenditures totaled $2,803,600.

 In addition, $17,500 was able to be provided to each of the volunteer fire departments for a total of $227,500, and approximately $200,000 was allocated to outside agencies.
