Sheriff’s department investigating robbery

FAIRMONT — The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a robbery that occurred early Monday at 2204 Pleasant Valley Road.

The location, reportedly an Exxon Station, occurred at 3:10 a.m.

No other information was available from the sheriff’s department.

• According to media reports, a Fairmont woman was taken by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a traffic accident shortly before noon on U.S. 19 in Enterprise.

The unidentified woman was reportedly driving north when she swerved her SUV to avoid hitting another vehicle leaving a driveway. She lost control and hit an embankment, where the van rolled over onto its side.

The accident was called in at 11:37 a.m.

The woman was extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to Ruby. She was reportedly alert and conscious at the time.

U.S. 19 was shut down to one lane for several hours for cleanup.

Shinnston, Lumberport and Worthington fire departments and Harrison County EMS responded. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
