FAIRMONT — Anyone with a passing knowledge of Myrtle Beach, S.C., probably knows about The Bowery, the famous establishment with good food, cold drinks and great music.
And anyone with a love of country music should recognize the name, too. The Bowery is where the Country Music Hall of Fame band Alabama was discovered in 1980. At that time, Alabama was The Bowery’s house band. Now the country music group boasts 43 No. 1 singles and more than 73 million albums sold. It’s the place where dreams come true.
One Fairmont band is pursuing that same dream and heading back to The Bowery on Sunday as one of the busiest weeks at the vacation destination kicks off. The Marshall Lowry Band, the country bluegrass band made up of Lowry on lead vocals and guitar, Aaron Jose on the bass and Jason P. Davis on the drums, starts its show at 8:30 p.m. Sunday and will play nonstop until 1:30 a.m.
