‘It’s wonderful’

More toys distributed on second day of Christmas Toy Shop

FAIRMONT — Days before the fundraising deadline for the annual Marion County Christmas Toy Shop, it seemed as though the goal of $10,000 was not going to be reached.

“It’s due to the generosity of Marion County residents,” said the Rev. Holley Faulkner of The Baptist Temple and one of the Toy Shop organizers.

Marion County Commissioner Butch Phillips said he is glad they were able to help folks who weren’t able to make it to the first toy distribution.

“We started this so that every child could have a Christmas, and that’s what I hope happens. I think it’s great,” he said.
