After growing up during the Depression and not having much of a Christmas, Warren and Dave Sloan are making sure kids of Marion County don’t miss out on Christmas like they did.
On Friday, they are having a toy giveaway at the Monongah Town Hall Community Building on Bridge Street from 2-6 p.m for Marion County residents only.
“My brother Dave and I never really had a Christmas as young kids,” Warren Sloan said. “Things were tough and there was no Santa Claus then — we just want to do something for the kids.”
Sloan said they will be giving away toys for children 12 and under. It will be open to adults only, and they must bring birth certificate for each child and proof of free lunch for the child at school. Adults will be able to pick three toys for each child.
