Three Marion County men are lodged at the North Central Regional Jail following arrests on felony charges concerning controlled substances.
The criminal complaints filed at Marion County Magistrate Court involve Todd Christopher Cottrill, 29, of 821 1/2 Coleman Ave., Apt. A, Fairmont; William Jacob White, 26, of 326 Barnes St., Fairmont; and William Christopher Watkins, 22, of 722 Walnut Ave., Apt. 4, Fairmont.
On June 30, Cottrill passed Marion County sheriff’s deputy J.S. Carter near mile marker 136 on Interstate 79 at a high rate of speed, driving erratically, going on and off the road.
Conducting a traffic stop at the Kingmont Exit, Carter asked Cottrill for proof of insurance and registration. Cottrill acted “very nervous,” the complaint states.
Carter asked him if there were any “guns, drugs, grenades or dead bodies” in the car, to which Cottrill replied no. A K-9 scan revealed 10 1/2 bricks of heroin in a yellow bag underneath the passenger seat.
Cottrill was taken to the sheriff’s station for processing and then to the regional jail.
He is charged with illegal manufacture or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, a Schedule I or II drug, and a narcotic.
