Candidates for Mannington’s upcoming June election have cast their names.
The filing period for candidacy was from March 12-26.
Requirements for candidates included being a resident of Mannington for at least 30 days, 18 years old and not under conviction of a felony.
Two residents filed to run for mayor. They are incumbent Bob Garcia and Jim Taylor.
Four residents filed to run for the council at large position, meaning if for some reason the mayor was to not attend a council meeting, the council at large would step in. The four include John Haught, Charlie Kolb, Chas R. “Chuck” Stevens and Del Watson.
Two residents filed for the council position for precinct 66. The two are incumbent Terr A. Starsick and Tena Stacy.
Incumbent Becky Williams was the only one to file for the council position for precinct 67.
Two residents filed to run for the council position for precinct 68. These two include incumbent Larry L. Smith and Patrick Moore.
Three residents filed to run for the council position for precinct 69. They include incumbent Christina Reaser Dunigan, Ray “Spanky” Shadrick and Richard E. Stevens.
