Living history is theme at expo: PHOTOS

Streetcars, Rivesville Power Plant among numerous displays

FAIRMONT — Saturday afternoon, the Marion County Courthouse was alive with the hustle and bustle of the annual Mountaineer State History Expo.

Each year the event gains new attractions as history moves forward, and visitors crowded into the courthouse to socialize and learn about the past and present.

Otis Anderson, who drove the last streetcar in Fairmont, had a display with trolley operator Larry Dallison with artifacts and photos from the days you could ride from Fairmont to Weston, although you might have to change cars a couple times. At 92 years old, he had a lot of interesting stories.
