Fairmont woman sentenced for distribution of hydrocodone

FAIRMONT — A Marion County woman was one of two people sentenced Tuesday by the Office of the U.S. Attorney Northern District of West Virginia.

Rita Watkins, 52, of Fairmont, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. She entered a plea of guilty on Nov. 29, 2012, to distribution of hydrocodone within 1,000 feet of Simpson Elementary School on Dec. 11, 2011.

She was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals pending designation to a federal institution.
