FAIRMONT — Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Marion County at East Park Elementary School teamed up with the Fairmont State University football team Tuesday to clean up a park on Morgantown Avenue.
Their efforts were part of the “Open the Door to Character and Citizenship” for National Boys & Girls Club Week.
Tracy Fowler, volunteer coordinator for the club, said working on the park is a great way for the kids, players and coaches to give back to the community.
“I asked the team to come out today and help the kids give back to the community,” she said Tuesday. “That’s important to us and Fairmont State University.”
