A proposed water line project between Fairmont and Rivesville is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Rivesville Town Council met Tuesday evening for the second public hearing of the town’s application for a Small Cities Block Grant to install a 12-inch water distribution line connecting the City of Fairmont and Rivesville, replacing the current 8-inch line. The application was unanimously approved in a special session.
Region VI project administrator Sheena Hunt presented the application to the council and residents, going over the logistics of the project. In order to qualify, the town had to demonstrate that 51 percent or more of its residents qualified as low or medium income.
