The Division of Natural Resources is not filing charges against those involved in the Saturday animal rescue at Valley Falls Start Park for one reason.
“We’re not involved in this in any way, shape or form,” said Capt. Roy E. Cool, DNR Law Enforcement Section.
“If anyone is filing charges, it will probably be coming from the park superintendent, Ron Fawcett.
“He may do so. He is probably seeking advice from the prosecuting attorney’s office. He told me (earlier) that he was going to do that.
“There are no DNR officers involved in this matter.”
The incident occurred Saturday when a couple was wading in the Tygart Valley River with a 3-year-old girl and two dogs.
