The Southside Neighborhood Committee continues to focus its attention on a variety of neighborhood improvement projects.
Committee member Nancy Bickerstaff said that Main Street Fairmont awarded the committee a grant to purchase garbage receptacles and benches as a way to begin streetscaping within the community.
“We just want to keep moving and keep doing,” Bickerstaff said.
And those efforts of the committee are extending beyond the Southside Neighborhood as well.
Bickerstaff, who is also the president of the Woman’s Club of Fairmont, said work has been done to the entrance of the historic Woodlawn Cemetery to increase its curb appeal.
