Fairview’s leaders are ready to move the town forward.
Officials of the Town of Fairview met Monday evening for the first time since being elected in June.
Mayor Arley Simmons said his goal for the next term is to bring more businesses to Fairview.
“I’d love to have a doctor’s office come to town since we have a lot of senior citizens,” Simmons said.
In addition to attracting businesses to the town, Simmons said council is hopeful about paving Grant Street and the back side of Washington Street at a later date.

“We allow them to come downtown to get gas as long as they behave, but we’ve got a few that have pushed the envelope,” Simmons said.
