The Paw Paw District Fair officially kicked off Tuesday evening with a parade on Main Street in Rivesville, and the fair will continue through the end of the week.
Having run since the 1940s, the Paw Paw Fair has been a destination of choice for many Marion Countians for many years. With rides, exhibits and entertainment, there’s plenty for everyone.
“I just hope the rain stays off,” said Shirley Bragg, who serves on the Paw Paw Fair Association and helps to organize and man the event.
The fair kicked off with a parade at 6 p.m. that worked its way down from near Rivesville Elementary and Middle School and onto Main Street. More than 50 vehicles took part, throwing candy to excited kids lined up and down the roadway.
