For decades, the Paw Paw District Fair has provided a venue for area truck owners to get together and settle who has the best truck.
Thursday, the fair hosted its annual truck “pull,” with dozens of contestants lined up to hitch their trucks and win bragging rights for the next year.
The rules are straightforward. Each truck backs onto the track, with its only goal to get its front wheels across the finish line.
The only obstacle to reaching that goal is hitched behind them. A sled, weighed down with heavy blocks, has to be moved by the truck, and that sled can get pretty heavy.
