One arrested, one flown to Ruby following vehicle accident Thursday

FAIRMONT —

A vehicle accident between a car and a motorcycle sent one to the hospital and another was arrested.

According to the Fairmont Police Department, the accident occurred Thursday around 9:40 p.m. at Fairmont Avenue and Seventh Street.

Sgt. Glen Staley with the Fairmont Police Department said the driver of the motorcycle was flown by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Staley said the other vehicle involved was a sedan.

Deputy Tony Veltri with the Marion County Sheriff's Department said he arrested Randall Richard Stebbins Thursday for driving under the influence with injury following the accident. Stebbins was the driver of the sedan.

The man on the motorcycle was found on the ground by emergency workers when they arrived on the scene. A landing zone was set up at the campus of Fairmont State to transport him to Morgantown.

The Fairmont Police Department is investigating the accident.

One person was arrested for driving under the influence with injury following a car vs. motorcycle accident Thursday.

Deputy Tony Veltri with the Marion County Sheriff's Department said he arrested Randall Richard Stebbins Thursday for driving under the influence with injury. Stebbins was the drive of a sedan that was involved in an accident with a motorcycle.
